IP-Tablet – Award-Winning Virtual Control – IBC 2017

At IBC 2017, Hi, it’s Kirk Harnack in the
Telos Alliance booth. I’m here with my good friend, from a long
time, from Paris, Jerome Gahery. Hello, Jerome! Hi, Kirk. Jerome, it seems a popular topic is the notion
of Virtual Radio and this mean different things to different people. But, I really like the way that you’re talking
about Virtual Radio. What is your thought? Yes, you have reason, it’s very popular now
that there is a big convergence of many manufacturers like Telos Alliance to make easier to use
the console. Now to move to the virtual radio. Virtual Radio is an abstraction first of the
surfaces. So first Virtual Radio is an abstraction of
the surface. Yes, absolutely. Because the goal is to aggregate all the control
of all the other device you need for broadcast. Is that what we’re looking at here – an aggregation? Absolutely. On this screen – only on this screen – you
can have all the control of the console. Faders, VU meters, selecting the profile. In addition, because you want to do the Virtual
Radio, you have to have control on the Automation System. That’s the new feature on IBC. That now it’s a combination of all the console
resource control on all the automation control – for playlist, hotkeys. Because we are in a Telos Alliance world you
can control all the hardware devices from Telos Alliance – like hybrids from VX, VX
Prime – VX. You can control VOCO for selecting the preset
of the voice. Many things like that in only one software
for Virtual Radio. Wow. Wow. So, we have seen the IP-Tablet in different
forms. Mounted in the console. Also, as something that someone else can control
the console. And now we see, as you said, this aggregation
of lots of things together. Yes. Because the very new concept is to share on the network over IP all the control, all the resources from the
hardware. If you are a speaker, you can have a Tablet
– just simply a tablet – for just switching the microphone to control the playlist or
changing the preset of your voice. Yeah. Just with the tablet. In the studio you can have many, many access
to all the resources – that’s new, because now, with virtual radio, you can share all
the resources on the network. So, you can connect many software access for
controlling in the studio, outside the studio, because now it’s very new. If you are in another country you can take
control of your studio – take control of all the devices you have in the data center. Because IP is everywhere. Absolutely. On IP-Tablet, too. Cool. So, this is IP-Tablet we’re looking at. Absolutely. This is one example of IP-Tablet application. Just one example, yeah. Yes, because – you have another example – it’s
to use IP-Tablet for having the console resource – like a virtual console, on the automation,
editing, production software. If you want to voice-track. If you to record an interview. You can have on the Send PC the Editor on
the Console without hardware busses and without hardware buttons. The possibilities are really amazing. And, to find out more about IP-Tablet, come
to the Telos Alliance web site: TelosAlliance.com Look for IP-Tablet, or talk to any of our
representatives who would be glad to help you understand how IP-Tablet can help you
virtualize radio. I’m Kirk Harnack at IBC 2017.
